I forgot the most crucial part of my hypothesis: the shooters are of Arab and Islamic descent, with no connection to Al Qaeda, but sympathizers to its cause... similar to the Arab who shot people at LAX at the El Al counter over 4th of July.

Does anyone know if these shootings started before or after the Al Jazeera message from BL's second in command re: additional terrorist attacks?
