I still can not see a clear link to the Michael's Craft stores. Yes, the shootings have been in the general area of some Michael's stores, but if you do some research you'll probably find there will be a Home Depot also located in the general vicinity. These shopping centers have numerous stores that rely on each others' clientele and therefore, when you see one, there's a good chance you'll find another right around the corner.

I think it's much more simple than people are trying to make it out to be. Shopping centers are "target rich" environments. Michael's and Home Depot are some major players in shopping center business. You won't find too many Michaels' or Home Depots in you're local Suburbia Valley closed-in mall.

Last night, I really thought that more so than the Home Depot or Michael's angle was the fact that most of the shopping centers in the DC area where Home Depot or Michael's are located are owned by a company called SAUL CENTERS.

I agree that the "Michael's" speculations are silly. Michael's, like McDonald's is located near every commerical location of any size. To make so much of it is just part of the groupthink that is trying to get us all not to look at that man behind the curtain.

By the way, I have a son living nearby last night's location. He is providing security for a high-up in the Justice Dept. I worry about him, and his girlfriend, but remain calm.

To those posting who criticize us for not being "brave" about this, we are not being cowering fools by recognizing the probability of terrorsim, and the difficulty of dealing with it, just realists.

Our whole way of life, commercial and other-wise, is based on the assumption of relative safety in going about our daily rounds, and therefore will be negatively impacted by events such as this.

I would posit that our government is cowardly in refusing to inform us thqat this may be a new terrorist tactic, and in assuming that we are not capable of handling ourselves appropriately.

I think you are probably right. However, Michael is the Archangel who faught the devil. A psycho could be caught up in a good vs. evil scenario - with the oil companies part of the axis of evil. If it is a nut doing this, anything's possible.

I can't either, but I have wondered if Michael's uses white box type trucks.

You make a good point. A "connection" can be made to fast food stores, too- McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Taco Hell. They're everywhere (and I would hazard a guess that there was at least one near every shooting so far), but not necessarily part of the snipers' motivation.
