Where's Sherlock Holmes when we need him. Well, to add to the speculations....let's consider the following evidence:
(1) There really is a white Chevy Astrovan with ladder rack involved. What is the basis for this assumption? It has been reported by several witnesses at -- 3 -- separate shootings. Furthermore, at the most recent shooting, at least one witness reported seeing the shooter get into the van. If this is true - IF - it removes one possibility, which is the speculation that the shooter was simply waiting for a white van to drive by before taking the shot. This is important.
(2) The LEO's are looking for this van. They have been looking since the previous shooting. The call was in to 911 within 2 minutes of this most recent shooting. The cops are prestaged near highway entrances/exits, and the choppers are already in the air. Yet - this vehicle vanishes completely. Even though the word would not have been sent out that witnesses from this most recent shooting saw the white van, the cops would already be predisposed to pull over ANYwhite box truck OR white van. Yet it vanished completely.
(3) The traffic and roads near the most recent shooting would have slowed the getaway. So, by 5 minutes after the shooting they could not have been far away. But they would have heard on their scanners that the word was out on them.
Therefore, a logical conclusion is that they went to ground. Thus, they have a "bat cave" - or more than one - where they can park the vehicle within a few minutes of this shooting.

The drone thing sounds like more wild trashing on the part of a clueless Chief Moose. True, but I wonder if drones could be used in tandem with something else to tag the perps...very 'spensive police choppers, basically.
And arm the hellfires. :-)

Can Predator drones be armed with missiles?

Not if the shooters are putting mopeds or motorcycles in the back of a van or box truck and using that as a mode of excape. Another poster had hinted this mode of escape earlier in this post. They could be hiding their truck/van in adjacent storage facilities, mosques, industrial areas, etc.

Run by committee? I guess this shows why we need a Department of Homeland Security.

Thus, they have a "bat cave" - or more than one ... Hehehe, I'm sorry, that was a good post, but I'm still rolling over that line. ;-)

Yeah, the ATF guy really said that. Bet it'll work for them about as well as it did for the Soviets.

As far as I know, only the first (the guy in Wheaton, working for NOAA) and the last (last night's FBI analyst) victims have been federal employees.
To: GeorgeandtheDralgore
LOL. No, I don't think they've had Predators up. :)

My understanding is that we would have to be under attack from a foreign government. Would AQ qualify? Suppose it's Iraq, using terrorists as proxies.

If the day ever comes when we have to deploy OUR MILITARY inside our borders.......our collective gooses are cooked.

I think one of the other victims was related to a Maryland LEO, FWIW. The gentleman who was a landscaper, if I remember correctly.

Suppose it's Iraq, using terrorists as proxies. Immediate war.

Isn't one of the loopholes in posse comitatus for terrorism?
To: aristeides
Suppose it's Iraq, using terrorists as proxies. BINGO!
That should certainly qualify, IMO

A "Bat Cave" in any metro area could easily be those Rental Storage garages that have popped up everywhere. They could base their targets depending on a rental garage that is nearby, to hide their van.

Each killing is an affront to them....They are working around the clock with little sleep and no family life....
The analyst's death just hit a little closer to home....

But you could use a drone when the weather doesn't permit using a helicopter, like last Friday.
