Well, it's a no brainer that MIDDLE EASTERN MEN are the terrorist source, not ex-marines - unless they are of middle eastern descent. There are isolated exceptions, like T. McVeigh, but the primary suspect SHOULD ALWAYS BE A MIDDLE EASTERN MALE. Period. I'm sick and tired of our stupid bungling traitorous corrupt police agencies targeting Americans when they should be going after the REAL ENEMY. While the idiots were targeting American citizens, arab men were flying planes into the WTC! This will be the death of us all unless we fire these idiots and hire some real cops!

I lived in the People's Republic for something like 20 years...finally got the opportunity to get out. It was tough being one of three Republicans in the city. (But I did wear a "Berkeley Republican" T-shirt to City Council meetings and LIVED:-)

You can't assume that. You can't argue that until you get a better indication that she wasn't shot just as randomly as the others. Very important point...I also want to remind everyone here that while the international terrorism angle is very interesting/compelling, and there is certainly some circumstantial evidence going around suggesting it COULD be that, THE ODDS still favor -- any scenario. No hard evidence yet, although indications they may have FINALLY gotten some last night (so hopefully we can..."kill"...these threads soon :p).

My God, people, you play into all the stereotypes liberals have about you. More likely than not this is NOT a Muslim. Was the Son of Sam a Muslim, too? Is a fanatic Muslim going to go around dropping Tarot cards, and then NOT take credit for the killings? How many times have you heard of a tactic like this being used in America? I know of NONE. This is a typical mulsim extremist tactic. This tactic is demonstrated on teh Al Qaeda training tapes they have. What more do you need? Why do people like you ignore the obvious?
To: Garak
This kick out the Muslims paranoia is a bizarre - and it's bring out our bad side. not only that, think of the havoc the socialists can reek by busting on our ridiculous grammar !

A few days ago, I heard someone on FOX saying that the lack of head shots was proof that he was not a pro. I thought at the time it was an assinine statement. I also thought we would soon be seeing more head shots.
A "pro" sniper is usually given one target, is able to choose the time and place, and has time to place his shot.
This guy is going into crowded metro areas and shooting people at random.
Think about going to your favorite mall with a scoped rifle and shooting someone at 6pm.
Do you think you could get away with it the first time, let alone 10 times?
To: Garak
You are entitled to your opinion. I want all ME immigration stopped for 1 year. In that time round up all who haved overstayed their visas. Deport them. To do anything less when people have proven they are here to kill us is pure
stupidity IMHO>
To: Garak
No one has taken credit for the Cole, or for 9/11, or for the bombing in Bali.
Actually, it seems to be a consistent thing with events that we suspect Al Qaeda are involved with. They don't seem to take credit.

Shooting an FBI analyst may mean federal jurisdiction. Terrorism would certainly mean federal jurisdiction.

Why do so many on this board think that the cops are ONLY pursuing this one idea? Methinks that they have teams of investigators that are pursuing all of the different scenarios. The same team that ignored the warnings pre-911 about arabs flying planes into buildings? I don't need a copy to protect me - by the time they get there, only a clean up is needed. I'll protect myself -thank you. Cops are revenue collectors.

the media is underestimating bloodhounds. There are cases...proven cases...where bloodhounds can follow a scent for miles .. I have the utmost respect for the ability of bloodhounds to track a scent. What I don't understand in this case is how they link this "scent" to the sniper.
Can anyone set me straight here?

why are you directing your comment to me? i explicitly said that there was no better than 50-50 odds, in my opinion, that it is muslim extremists. besides which, i hardly think many on FR concern themselves with whatever stereotypes that the left has about us. i could not care less.

Ro-sham-bo? Heh, sorry.
Interesting theory re: Wooded area. I keep thinking that the van is a red herring, or only contains the spotter, possibly in contact via a secure commlink of some sort? Or just gives a non-verbal signal of some sort?
RE: Witnesses -- I'm much happier to hear the words "forensic evidence" than "witness". Witnesses can often throw the investigation further OFF track.

A "pro" sniper is usually given one target, is able to choose the time and place, and has time to place his shot.An "expert" on one of the talking-head cable TV shows called the shooter a "marksman" based on the mediocre quality of his shots. FWIW

Oh no! There are no indications that it could be related to international terrorism" (What a suprise!) So the FOX News guy asks why not, and the FBI guy says, "Well there have been no claims of responsiblity.." blah blah blah. Sometimes I think these "experts" simply haven't done their homework. You would think they would know by now that not all groups claim responsibility.

This kick out the Muslims paranoia is a bizarreMust have something to do with all the Muslims saying they are going to kill us, and then trying to.
The Amish haven't been blowing up resorts lately.

(I mean, it's the ONLY head shot, I think, is it not?) I'm certain there have been other head shots, from among the earlier victims. Anybody remember exactly?
