My wife and I live but a few miles from Seven Corners and we were just at the Home Depot there this past week. This area is very congested and certainly not an easy place to depart quickly. However, directly across the from the Home Depot parking lot (on the other side of Route 50) are several areas someone could easily have setup & gotten the shot off unnoticed and departed. My wife and I -- along with our baby -- had been shopping at a nearby Target just this evening: the thought crossed my mind as I came out with the baby that perhaps we should avoid a store named "Target".

If I lived in the area these shootings occur, I would still be more concerned about being killed in a car accident than by a sniper. 'Course, every time I stepped out of my car I would have a hard time making myself strongly aware of the statistical impbrobability of getting shot.
If I lived there, I think I would do my best to avoid seeing or hearing the news, at least for a few weeks or until they catch the guy(s).

I live in Alexandria. My mom was shopping at that Home Depot yesterday. Since the killings started happening, the horror is really starting to sink in now.

You were at the Target across the street?? yikes! i agree, i know where you mean across Route 50, there is the Willston Center parking lot and the school parking lot. i am figuring maybe that is where they were, and then they could go up that access road parallel to 50 and get right on it there near the Gap.

I have been wondering if there is a large storm sewer system in the area because the terrorist training tape that was shown on CNN, instructed the terrorists on how to escape via sewer systems.
