It depends on the bullet. .45 Full Metal Jacketed 230 grain has a dismal 60% One Shot Stop record.
Try Federal Hyda-Shoks or Quik-Shoks. I think both are over 90%.

Agreed. Corbon makes a nice load as well. I think it was a fmj in the incident I mentioned. I read an article once (don't remember where) that stated that there was no observavble difference in the wounds of different bullets when they were round noses. Just a neat little hole all they way through that couldn't be identified by caliber if the bullet wasn't found.
