Anything smaller is ill-advised for self-defense, imo.

Depends on the range and time of year. Test out some .380 Hydrashock at close quarter ranges for summer use. It may surprise you. I agree 9mm is better though. I prefer 147 gr fp or hp. Slow but heavy penetration any time of year. 147's give a really good combination of expansion and weight retention. The ones I've tested tend to expand more slowly than lighter slugs, which is a winter advantage.

I wasn't talking about the 9mm Parabellum (which I agree is superior); I was talking about the 9mm Browning, which is just another name for the .380 ACP.

....and I agree with you, the Hydrashoks are not something to sneeze at in that caliber.
