Speculating being the inexact science that is is, this is looking like an enemy operative. He is singly able to bring down a regional economy and wants to show the body politic up close and personal what kind of havoc this type of low intensity terror can wreak. He is doing the perfect sand in the gears disruption written about in the Al Qaeda playbooks. Al Qaeda, Hussein's security service, whatever, this is COMPLETELY POLITICAL; DC is the target region and anyone who has trouble connecting these dots is in an extreme state of denial. Take note of when the attacks commenced. When Congress started the debate on granting Bush powers to act militarily against Hussein. You don't think these guys would chance a little persuasive selling to our government do you? It's not like they can afford to just sit by idly with those billions of $$'s and wait patiently to be taken out by the US Army.

I assume any and all dependents of diplomatic personnel from regions known to be hostile are being monitored closely. That would be the obvious leak in the immigration system for the enemy to exploit. Where do all the diplomats reside? Exactly.

Bottomline is everyone needs to evaluate their priorities, get right with their spiritual being and go about living their lives. It'll get worse before it'll get better. But ultimately it should get better, assuming Americans are willing to stand with the President and support whatever decisions that are made on behalf of American security. I pray for the people holding the levers of power. I pray that they are granted uncommon wisdom in facing down the threat asymetric warfare presents to our national security.
