People have commented on the fact that these victims didn't fight back. I know that they were very committed Christians, and I'm wondering if their religion taught them that it is wrong to fight back? "Turn the other cheek" and all of that.
I'm wondering if we are living in an era of "toxic religious mutation", where major religions are morphing into something wholly different from what they once were or were intended to be.
Christianity seems to be infatuated with a passitivity that borders on self-immolation. Meanwhile, Islam seems to be infatuated with helping Christianity to self-immolate, torching civilizations everywhere it goes and praising how beautiful they look illuminated by firelight.

Pal, I think your comments are right on concerning this new 501C-3 version of Christianity. Too many churches are now corporations created with the blessing of the IRS and their passivity as well as indifference to the destruction of this country reflect the "deal they made with the devil". As a pastor told me on one of my last visits to his corporate church his mission was not to offend anyone but to bring people to Christ. Well, I told him his lack of effort in confronting homosexuality, abortion and outcome-based education sure the hell offended me.
