The 243 can be purchased off the counter at either 80 or 100 grms.

Private detective calling in to Charlie Warren on WMAL said the message taped to the van was "Jihad (misspelled "Gihad") in America".
To: md2576
Oh, I get it now. Sorry. A little slow tonight.
To: valleygal
Actually I think "flustrated" is a keeper. It makes me laugh every time I say it. My dad says "flustrated" and I have no idea where he got it from. I figured that it was my dad's personal cross between "flustered" and "frustrated" but perhaps it has roots in south Texas. Many Texans (including me) use the word "tump" as in: "I tumped over muh beer and it got all over muh boots." It's a pretty common word.

"The FBI does not want to say he is a suspect yet because he is not the suspect. They are obviously grasping for straws in a case like this, and the best thing that can happen is from a concerned citizen that may have seen something. Announcment that a suspect is in custody would make everybody let their guard down, and a lot of the potential tips would dry up."Well said. I think the wife that shot him for spending too much time hunting for the sniper has set him up to give more grief from the police by buying some tarot cards and leaving a note in his van. She obviously has the mentality to spell Gihad.
This case will most likely bring another shooting tommorow. God help us that it does not. Although it looks to me like the police want more shootings until this guy will finally gets pulled over for not coming to a complete stop while taking a right at a red light. God knows their good at catches those crooks.

Doesn't Egyptian dialect of Arabic pronounce "G" what is pronounced "J" in most other dialects?
Was this guy in Egypt?
To: aristeides
We just went through this on this thread or another one . . . turns out "gihad" is a common and acceptable alternative spelling for "jihad" . . . especially used in Europe and liberal circles (if that's any different)

After another couple of hundred posts this whole thead is making less and less sense.
By the end of the week we're going to have 60 white trucks, 20 Marines, 6 floozy girlfriends all investigated and "cleared".
I think a little oriental guy with a Red Ryder BB gun did it...
To: md2576
I do not know about the truck, am following the news just like you, the PD's as well as our FD's, are learning how to deal with Maranda, took a long time but they are learning.
I think that they are trying to put some of the rules of the game back into the hands of LE's. Slick move, it will work. Tom

If I hear on the news one more time that "the more shootings there are, the more chances there are for him to screw up."
Is this what it takes our elite force of police in such a national case such as this to catch him? "Well, the guy will get a parking ticket eventually."
sarcasm off...

I think that use of "G" for "J" is Egyptian dialect of Arabic. Is it also Maghrebi (Northwest African) dialect?
Detective on WMAL also said that the ballistic test on the rifle found was negative. But there's apparently so much other evidence that it's almost impossible to believe this guy was not involved: used the right kind of weapon and ammunition, trained as a sniper and worked as a sniper instructor (!) in the Marines, has police scanners in his car, has as his work area the D.C. area, including the suburbs, identifies with jihad. There are also reports -- so far unconfirmed -- that a tarot deck was found in the apartment.
I would guess that the sniper team was this guy and the girlfriend who shot him on Saturday, and that she shot him because of disagreements about the shootings. I would speculate that she didn't like his shooting the boy last Monday.

Miranda was a case which ended with a twist.
In 1963, 23 yr. old Ernesto Mirand was arrested for the kidnap and rape of an 18 year old woman in Phoenix. He was arrested and confessed after 2 hours of questioning.
Miranda was not told of his rights as stated in the 5th amendment. Police never told him he had the right to an attorney. Landmark case was decided in 1966.
Miranda was later retried based on new evidence. Served 11 years. He was paroled in 1972.
In 1976 he died in a barfight. A suspect was arrested in his death BUT CHOSE TO EXERCISE HIS MIRANDA RIGHTS and was later released.

I take back all my discusting thoughts about folks from ArKansas, looks as if I found a smart one. I did the 243 for the same reason, got the "06, 30-30, 06 kicks like hell, since I am so tall with long arms, the 30-30 gives me a big time nose bleed.
Are you sure that you are not a Texan?
To: valleygal
I kinda like the ending to that story. Thanks for the post.

The FBI is saying that he is "not a suspect." Whatever that means.
Just in case it hasn't been suggested yet, perhaps the reason he is being so quickly discounted as 'the guy' is that he has airtight alibis for the times of some (or all) of the shootings?
To: feinswinesuksass
why does everyone assume the sniper is a male?He drives a dented truck, he has only a minimal knowledge of Tarot (which is why he picked "death" and not a more interesting card), and he's been killing people like a serial killer or a spree killer, both of which are almost always male.

Thanks DM. I'll definitely keep it since others use it, too. But. I'll try not to laugh.:)
And I know what you mean, my husbands family (No. Calif.) uses grammar and words I didn't use growing up on east coast. I picked up "spendy" (expensive) in Oregon while visting his grandparents. They definitey have some different words up there.
