Maybe. We need to know about the tarot cards. Did he have a deck or a whole bunch of Death Cards. Was the cards in his house in the back of the closet? If he owns a sniping rifle and was a retired general in gun instruction, doesn't it make sense he would have a snipers manual. The paper is wierd but you may be right about it may have been planted by the same person that shot him? Sounds like his wife is the one that set him up for the money.

It should be obvious to one all by now that the citizens of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C., have gravely offended the sniper. It may have been something they said, or something they did or didn't do, but Lord knows they have deeply hurt the sniper and he has struck back at their iniquity with violence.

The first thing the people of these states need to do is to search their souls and ask, "How have I offended the sniper??" How could I have been a better citizen??

The next thing they should do is form emotional support groups where they can witness to their crimes against the sniper. Public marches should be held led by strident liberal politicians. Liberal media talking heads should beg the forgiveness of this misunderstood sniper. After all, it was society that drove him to this and society must answer the charge!

A committee of Harvard lawyers and ethicists should be formed to represent the sniper when he is caught by the government gestapo. Hollywood should bring together the Ed Asner's of the big screen to take out full page ads decrying the injustice of apprehending and incarcerating the poor sniper. Mike Farrell should host a telethon to raise funds for his defense.

If the sniper happens to be a person of color, we have Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to take the point on his defense. Who knows, he just might be one of Jesse's illegitimate sons!

You see, we are really the criminals here, what we have done to this poor retched sniper. Hunting him down like an animal. So a few of us had to die that the rest of us might see ourselves as the sinners we are seems only fair.

I can even see Babs Streisand holding a midnight candlelight vigil and concert in Central Park in his honor. Ed Bradley can do a jail-cell interview while Andy Rooney berates the widows and orphans of his victims.

Yes, America is entering a new age of liberal enlightenment when we will all be called upon to admit our guilt as part of a corrupt capitilistic society oppressing the masses.

Let's all do our part, shall we?.

A .308 is twice as powerful, and still not really powerful.

.375 Magnum is powerful.

You're not serious,are you?

We may see this happen a couple of times before this guy is really shot. Also, what happened last time the news talked about having a suspect? BAM. So maybe that is why the police do not discuss it. They don't want to taunt him again.

Is it possible that this guy was planning on going for the reward by tooling around the DC area after the shootings occur, thus he has a scanner and a weapon and various electronic gear?

That would certainly explain why he isn't a "suspect". On the other hand he could be the decoy.

The Møøse is writing his own: Flustrated - from flustered and frustrated. All the old Clintonoids have a bizarre relationship with the English language.

Fox News just reported that neither the white van or the truck found elsewhere are related to the shootings.

A lot of people out here don't use their front tag and will often have a Chevy or Ford plate or 49er or Raider plate in the front. Most of the time the cops have better things to do with their time and leave you alone.

However, a person I know recently found out in a word match with a local cop, if that front license plate is missing, you can get a serious fixit ticket or worse if the cop gets mad at you during the word game exchange.

Or maybe she found him lusting over pictures of a certain well built Eastern Eurotype female tennis player and shot him to teach him a lesson! :)

ACK! Lusting after MY lovely Anna! The evil SOB deserves to be shot!

WBAL reporter on MSNBC - She understands the ballistics tests of the rifle found in the marine's apartment DO NOT MATCH the sniper.

So the guy couldn't have MORE rifles elsewhere? I don't believe for a minute the cops are dropping this fellow off of their radar.

Easier pace is right. Attorneys no matter how "laid back" they claim to be are clock watchers. There's no time clock but the pressure to be there by x o'clock was worse than the actual work. If it was an interesting case, then to find out what happened next, I'd type fast.

T-shirts? I have to think of slogans. They take ten or 20 seconds to think of.

This Baltimore guy is still in my mind one suspect unless they actually RELEASE him. If it turns out he's in a cell, they'll state that he's an enemy combatant and we'll never see the guy again. Then, he'll have to make a deal with the feds and rat the other guys out.

In any event, if he is released because there's not enough evidence but he really is in a cell, his AQ buds will quickly kill him. I STILL THINK THIS IS A CELL.

The .223 Remington 55 gr. bullet (typical), has initial velocity higher; 3240 fps compared to the 2960 fps 100 grain (typical) .243 round.

But the .243 round has 1945 ft-lbs. of muzzle energy, compared to the 1282 ft-lbs of the .223.

At 125 yards, their velocities are equal.

At 500 yards, the .243 100 grain is still traveling at 1786 fps, while the lowly .223 is at 1301.

The .223 is a girly man cartridge, IMHO.

Thanks for the insight...

Congrats on your team making it to the WS. Hubby is from Sacto. so he'll be rooting for them. He also led chapel for Giants during spring training here in PHX 2 years ago. And here's a big moment...hubby told me Dusty Baker spit on his shoes (hopefully, by accident.) :)

Will probably root for the Angels to make it interesting, sorry. I'm almost glad D-backs are not in it... they just had too many injuries and I don't think I could take another Game 7 like last year!
