October 14, 2002 -- TEL AVIV - A Palestinian militant was blown up in a telephone booth yesterday near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, in a killing similar to previous Israeli assassinations.
The dead man was identified as Mohammed Abayat, 28, a commander with the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a paramilitary group affiliated with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction.

Actually, I'd guess they've been watching him, learned his habits, and wired the booth. Or possibly simply watching the booth and when he entered it, they fired a pre-targeted munition of some sort...anybody who has actual knowledge of the technique, please correct my ignorance.
