Yes, but a devout Muslim would have nothing to do with Tarot.

I gather you have not been following the threads of the past few days
and the long discussions about Tarot cards.
Tarot cards were brought to Europe by the Arabs.
Tarot cards are popular in several Moslem countries
and someone posted a cartoon from a Palestinian newspaper
that featured a Tarot card.

(My wife, who comes from a Moslem Turkish family in Cyprus
tells me Tarot cards are popular amongst the Turks in Northern Cyprus)

Yes, I'm aware of that history, though I haven't been frequenting these threads. I realize it is much easier to think this cannot be a fellow-American too.

As for the dabbling (or even pretending to) in the occult, which is the source of Tarot, it goes to show what hypocrites Muslims are.....and who their master truly is.

Tarot cards were brought to Europe by the Arabs.

From what I've read, ordinary playing cards were brought to Europe by the Arabs (having been invented in China earlier). Tarot cards are thought to have originated in 15th-century Italy, not long after the introduction of playing cards.

Yes, I don't doubt this at all.
