Intelligence experts in Washington are increasingly concerned that the gunman known as the "psycho-sniper" could be a terrorist with links to Islamic terror groups.
From the evidence gathered so far, which includes a handwritten note by the gunman, investigators think English may not be his first language.
The shootings, which have left eight dead in fewer than 12 days, coincided with a warning that Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network is planning new attacks. The FBI warned last Wednesday that supporters of Bin Laden were "targeting key sectors of the US economy" and has long suspected that a number of "sleeper" cells are still active.
The latest victim, on Friday morning, was father-of-six Kenneth Bridges, gunned down at a petrol station in Fredericksburg.
Investigators are troubled by the gunman's behaviour, in particular his habit of selecting targets at random. Recent reports suggest he may have a female accomplice and drives a large white van.

I did't say your comments were absurd. I said that someone that said another Freeper that believed that these sniper attacks could be AQ finally making good on their threats this past year to attack Americans in exactly this way, is absurd.
I didn't call you a liar, either. I said I didn't believe an "average Joe" conservative would call another conservative a "paranoid fool" in the face of real, credible threats. There's a difference.

My apologies....I misread/misunderstood.
This "terroism becoming normal way of life," is probably too unnerving for many; they want to keep their heads in the sand, disbelieving what their common sense or gut instinct tells them.
For others, to some extent, their refusal to believe that the sniper is a terrorist is valid, in that we have had snipers, serial killers, copy cat sickos living amongst us in the past. We "breed" them and always will, just like every other country will have the same evil/sick people, unfortunately. And I think our liberal laws allow them to flourish more greatly in our country; they will be protected and know this; they scoff at us (I think of Manson) once they are arrested, if they aren't killed first.
Denial and doubt are useful tools for our enemies.

who do not think this is the work of AQ; they continue to think it's a lone psycho, or perhaps, two idiots, i.e., American militants or Americans who want everyone to think it's AQ. What are the odds that two "idiots" could conspire and conjure up the nerve to execute these snippings *AND* escape? Coordinated hits, Yes... idiots... I think not. Training and expertise are clearly integral to this plot. Who *trains* for that? My gut still makes me say AQ cell.

Yeah, I no longer think it's a lone psycho (initial thoughts). There's just too much aforethought here. It seems "well-planned" out, there's the need for familarity with roads and escape routes, considerable distances, and cleverness in eluding police.....all without leaving many clues (if we believe police reports).

Rest this thought on your mind.
Our sniper is acting alone, yet not for long.
He is a cursor... If you will .. Just a taste.
They only are in need of one sniper per state and then the entire country will be paralyized.
