Morning Peach, Thanks for the ping.
I have 2 thoughts/comments.
1, In the last shooting it was very savy for the shooter to do his deed in the rain.
This prevents or at least hinders any sniffing done by a dog to define where the shot took place as was done at the school.
2, I truly feel that the white box truck is a distraction meant to draw attention away fron the shooter. Everyone is transfixed on it while he quietly slips away. Plus if the cover vehicle is stopped, searched, sniffed it will be quickly be sent on it's way as there is no evidence.
Thoughts?

"I wonder if they had more stuff but decided against releasing it."Well there was the rambling Islamic diatribes that what found at each of the crime scenes, but I believe the police decided that they were of no consequence and that it would be insensitive to release them. </sarcasm off>

Fox just showed a picture of a woman pumping gas stooping behind the pump, it was on the front page of a newspaperI am getting really p*ssed with the media about this kind of stuff. Not only are they contributing to a general hysteria (this person's scared, so I should be frightened, too), but they're feeding the motive, whatever it is, for the people doing the shooting.
The media needs to quit thinking about what's good for the bottom line at the moment (sensationalism), and start thinking about what's good for the communities.
It's one thing to report that residents are concerned and becoming more alert. It's another to report that they are so terrified they are acting like jellyfish.

But could be homegrown with sympathy for AQ. or hired.

On Meet the Press, Tim Russert just asked a spokesman why the sniper was taking weekends off. The spokesman seemed spooked and said it wasn't an appropriate area to discuss. Perhaps worried that now the sniper WILL strike on weekend. Russert: Have you ruled out international terrorism? Spokesman: No, haven't ruled it in or out. Keeping an open mind.

The other creepy thing on the Oregon Cell: They found a single, yes, just one...223 casing within a pretty hefty weapons cache.
Was this a souvenir to a good friend before he went "on his mission"?

Good point about video tape from elsewhere besides gas station.

I am still sticking with my original prediction. A hired sniper who saw duty in Sarajevo or Chechnya (where women and children were routinely hit by snipers). I though it might be ex-Spetsnaz but another Freeper informed me that Russians hate muslims and would not take their money. Then again, when Russian mobsters first got to our shores they used to kill people for $ 100.00. Maybe they would reconsider if they are getting paid $ 50,000.00 from the oil sheiks for each kill.

Could be a deliveryman and people tend to dis-regard those in uniform.

I think there are two vans/trucks - one speeds away and draws attention and the vehicle with the shooter and incriminating evidence slowly leaves the area. Hadn't thought about the rain covering the evidence - you could be right.

I think these guys are legitimate delivery men who don't work workends unless the boss asks for overtime. Then, perhaps we will see weekend killings.

why didnt the trooper head for the hillside by the motel where the shot was fired? At that instant, he had no idea where the sniper was, or if he was still in the area. It shows a lot of courage to run to the sniper's field of fire.

My husband was wondering if they might be shooting from inside the back of the truck. That way, the shooter would be in the back & the getaway driver takes off as soon as the shot is fired. I've been saying that here for at least a week.
Additionally, I think the Tarot card shooting is a red herring and possibly a copycat.
