Sniper May be Using These: "Silent Cartridges" of USSR & Russia

Ex-TopSecret "Silent Cartridges" of USSR & Russia.

They have no give-away muzzle flash when fired - and there is no recoil. The bullets are designed to be used in rifles CIA armourers have developed. They have twice the range of ordinary sniper weapons and a killing accuracy of a mile.

The recoil from a .223/5.56mm NATO round is negligible. A little girl could shoot one all day and never complain about the recoil.

I let my 13-year-old daughter shoot my AR-15 at CMP matches, and she has no recoil complaints. (She gets pretty good hits, too)

Off the topic...When shooting skeet at O degrees F (or below), under the lights, you can see the shot string as a "line" going out to the clay. Very nice!

I wrote some words on this thread about the sound of the shot being fired. After reading more posts on this subject, I think that the volume is very subjective. After firing .44 Mag from a 6" barelled handgun for about an hour, .223 rifle just doesn't seem real loud. But as I said, that first .223 shot at 6:00 AM, in the woods, in November is a real waker-upper!

It is not the propellent in the cartridge that causes the report. Rather it is the escaping gas at the muzzle. And the very existence of Red Mercury is debatable.

Yeah, there you go, making me feel like yelling "Doh." I'm not an engineer of course, but I should have smelled something rotten. Thank you.
