Not to smash the fun mood this evening, but this photo makes me very uncomfortable. It is of the First Lady and Mrs. Putin touring the National Book Festival on the capitol grounds today.
I don't think either of those two ladies should be so exposed when we know for a fact that at least one very sick, evil, and audacious gunman is on the loose around here. I can understand wanting to set a good example of going on with our lives and all that, but this is just too scary to me.
Maybe I'm just a scaredy cat.Secret Service would not allow this (not to mention the Russian security for Mrs. Putin) unless the perimeter was secured. It looks like they are in the open, but I guarantee you that the buildings like the Capitol had been swept, and I will bet that there were snipers (our guys) on the roof watching everything.
