I was required to carry a weopon as an off-duty officer, carried one ILLEGALLY after I resigned after an 8 yr tour, and now have a CHL.
ALWAYS better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. I urge you to do the same.

Best advice I've heard in a long time.

I agree, When I first got my permit it was like my American Express card, I never left home without it. One day I took my wife to the airport and before I went into the airport I removed the magazine and un-chambered the round and placed the magazine in the console and my gun under the seat. My wife's flight was delayed and by the time I went back to the truck 2 hours had passed and when I went to unlock the door I could see that it had been broken into. A sick feeling came over me as I thought my gun was stolen and might end up being used in some horrible crime. Fortunately all that was stolen was a pair of expensive boots and one of those old bag cell phones. I felt really lucky and from that day on, I hardly ever carried it. THAT HAS CHANGED
