Do you think they will bring in snipers?

I don't think so. I think one of the greatest concerns right now is that an innocent civilian will be peppered with bullets by some poorly trained and/or trigger happy LEO.

This would really screw up civilian law enforcement. How could you tell "good" snipers from "bad" snipers?

Here is something I noticed. This guy (s) is operating just like thte VC did in Nam. They used "District Boundries" because they knew they didn't have to worry about RFPF or CIDG in either district. The district gendarmes were afraid they would bump into each other at the boundries, and this provided a clear path for the VC. In fact, theier best time to move around was at noon, when the chopper pilots all went to base for lunch. We used to tap them marching down the trail at high noon like they had no care in the world, holding onto little bushes! (In case a plane came)

In this case the man is seeking refuge in the "Public Thoroughfare". If he tried hitting in communities his "pattern" would get picked up on his way into, or out of his stance. People KNOW what happenes where they live and have their TV sets. But when someone goes out to the Gas Station, or the Store they don't really know the "pattern" there so they do not recognize intruders.

I think a counter sniper team from Bragg could probably have this Dude policed up in a few days, but the regular police would have to leave them alone and back off. (Unlikely)

I know one thing though. If you want to catch a sniper you should put a sniper on his trail. DC Police in squad cars aren't it.

Here is another thought. Everyone is assuming these are random hits. Maybe not. One of the methods used to get away from pursuit is to start out fast, turn the corner, then just sit down and let the pursuer run right on by you. (They think you are moving fast)

What if the sniper and his truck are in a garage someplace a few blocks from the hit, waiting for the pursuit to run on by? If it was planned in advance, it might have just been set up like that.

This now impresses me as something more like a "military excercize" rather than a nut case with a gun.

I hope someone from the military is at least on the case. These are skills and abilities that some in our military establish have in spades. The "understand sniper", and should be consulted.
