"Did I hear that the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor again?"
They couldn't have if Dean Wormer had, in addition to his "double secret probation regime," also sent in UN inspectors.

I work with cops. If I saw this guy I would stop and arrest him. He in no way resembles a police officer. He needs to be in a marked vest, jacket or uniform, with a clearly visible badge.
The county sheriff in charge of this county has the responsibility of making sure that all law enforcement officers, local, state, and federal, are properly uniformed in his/her county.
To allow this type of nonstandard outfit is a shirking of that elected official's duty. People are scared enough already.

Don't know about anybody else, but I'd both hands on the steerin' wheel in plain view.

I don't much care for it either, but what the picture doesn't show is the place swarming with uniformed police and marked cruisers with lots of flashing blue lights. This whole business of covering their faces, obscuring badges, etc is generally not a good thing.

For one thing, you cant tell from the angle shown whether his chest and back are marked "Police". Two, he was standing in the middle of the highway with twenty or so other cops, most of whom had assault rifles or shotguns and police cars lined the highway at this roadblock. Third, the traffic was backed up for miles and virtually everyone knew why.

Go to www.foxnews.com, Massaponax is not that far from where the other person was shot this morning. I'm going home.
Did you even read the story?
The trooper heard the shot at about 9:30 a.m. EDT but only saw the victim, a black man, fall at the Exxon station pumps about 50 yards away. The victim's identity was not released.

A Fairfax County, Va. police officer checks a pickup truck stopped on Interstate 395 in Springfield, Va. Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 as police searched for a sniper on the major interstate after a van was seen leaving the scene of a deadly shooting at a Virginia gas station Friday morning. It wasn't immediately clear if the shooting near Fredericksburg was linked to nine sniper attacks that have left seven people dead in the Washington area. He looks a lot better from that angle... I still don't care for the covered face, though.

That's why I posted it so that at least another view would be seen. He also has police written on the back from another photo I saw.... Kinda small but readable up close and standing rather still....

Hi patty. Don't let the turkeys get you down.
A lot of us have been on this all day long. We got a heads up from a Freeper newsie about 15min before it even hit the news channels. People have been reporting all day on the network and DC area news channels, police radios scanners, local commentary, etc.
It's been a long day on a terrible subject and we really needed some comic relief.
Thanks for the post.
FRegards, Al
