Sniper hunters rush to new shooting

ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 11 — Police on Friday were investigating a shooting at a gas station in Fredericksburg, Va., a crime that bears similarities to several slayings attributed to the sniper terrorizing the Washington, D.C., area. Meanwhile, authorities were planning to make public a “graphic aid” in hopes that it will help the public identify the sniper, who has killed seven people and wounded two others.

DETAILS were immediately available on the shooting at an Exxon station in Spotsylvania County, where one previous shooting attributed to the sniper has been reported. Some witnesses reported seeing a white van, possibly a Chevy Astro minivan, speeding away from the scene, NBC affiliate WRC-TV reported.

Word of the shooting came shortly after Montgomery County, Md., Police Chief Charles Moose announced at a news conference that the FBI was assembling graphic materials for distribution to the media that may help solve the case. He declined to elaborate on the nature of the materials, but indicated they would be released later in the day.

How dangerous! She could have blown-up the gas station using that cell phone. (/sarcasm)

On a serious side, my prayers are with her and her husband.
