Here in California, the Union 76 stations proudly advertise that their gas has no MTBE. Of course, it still has ethanol in it, and I'm not sure which is worse.

no MTBE. Of course, it still has ethanol in it, and I'm not sure which is worse. ethanol is just corn squeezings. No harm in that. As long as it's less than 10% of the gas ('bout as much as wine) it won't hurt you car, or you. If you could get it out of there, you could drink the stuff, but hopefull not to much. 100% ethanol would be real firewater. If it gets into the water, you have a very happy bunch of fish, as well as who/whatever else drinks it.
