NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

I;ve never tried the latch-on gas pumps. I stay with my vehicle and use my debit card unless I'm thirsty. I have enough trouble here at FR & with my own web site.

I haven't had an opportunity to try the other method. I have to get out to take off my gas cap anyway so, it wouldn't help would it?

I wish the media would stop hypothesizing on the next BEST target for the sniper to drive fear into the hearts of the people.

While everyone is speculating on the 'Skins-Saints game, I'd say to watch everywhere else during that timeframe. DC becomes a ghost town when the 'Skins are in town/on TV. That would be the best time to strike...somewhere.

WRC-TV 4 reporter on scene of shooting reports investigators wearing FBI clothing. One has an FBI lettered cap, another is wearing a jacket lettered (something like) FBI Counter Terrorism.

Statboy said the same thing. It's very possible. Victims can be lined up at the pumps and all the killer has to do is wait for a white van to leave the area.

Yes, I think this nut is a single shot as well.

What makes me think so too is that if the perp had a semi-auto, he'd more than likely fire off a few extra shots into his victims to "make a statement"..

Additionally, semi-autos aren't as accurate as bolt action rifles. That's why many REAL snipers, both military and police, utilize a bolt action rifle.
