NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg
The Free Lance-Star ^ | now | Jim Lakely

Posted on 10/11/2002 6:54:58 AM PDT by seamus

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

If this guy stays on Rte. 1, he'll eventually pass the Pentagon.

No way - too much traffic on 1 - he'll have to bail either onto 95 or onto some other road.

I hope they catch this person today. And have to remove his body from the scene in a BODY BAG .

I don't want to think what will happen if he is taken Alive.

The second-hand stores are full of scanners -- All the cops and reporters on the street are using the wireless web to connect to FReerepublic.

It's all in the lighting - I've been lucky enough to be able to kill the flourescent light above, leaving me with just the trog-style lighting at my desk...

I had it that way for about a year. I used to go home at night just as fresh as I went in the AM.(I am a software developer). Till some weenie complined for months on end, and instead of fixing it, they just hardwired the overheadsn ON so they never go off.

Thank you SO much for posting this so timely.

My son and I are scheduled to head into the general combat zone this afternoon.

It would make my month if they nailed this guy before we entered the area.

Thank you again!
