NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg
The Free Lance-Star ^ | now | Jim Lakely

Posted on 10/11/2002 6:54:58 AM PDT by seamus

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

According to Chief Moose's favorite news channel, WUSA-TV 9, the shooting was reported at an Exxon station off Route 1. I didn't catch the name of the town (it begins with Mas----an Indian name, I think.)

They did not know if anyone was hit, or if the report of the shooting was confirmed, yet. They were sending a news crew down.

In my workplace - it's much more fitting.

It's all in the lighting - I've been lucky enough to be able to kill the flourescent light above, leaving me with just the trog-style lighting at my desk...

It also helps if you make a tray for the straw....

Any word on what type of vehicle the cops are chasing? We keep hearing reports of a white van or panel truck observed leaving the scenes of earlier shootings. BTW, what kind of newsroom do you work in? Radio/TV/print? Keep us informed, please.

Just noticed your post. OMG!!!!! These killers are even sicker than anything I imagined! I can only assume if the report is true that it's linked to the other one. OMG!

North on Route 1 is back to D.C. and MD.

Still nothing about this on WMAL.

Hope they have helicopters up. If this guy stays on Rte. 1, he'll eventually pass the Pentagon.

something appears to be going down. let's see. bumps and prayers an irate crowd spanning all races and ages, finds the perp(s) first and beats them to a pulp, then the cops can cuff 'em and book 'em.
