I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.
No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.
Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Just as I was about to hit "post" I learned that police are in pursuit, they were traveling across the Falmouth Bridge in a chase just a few moments ago. The suspect is apparently heading north on U.S. Route 1, which parallels Interstate 95, just 55 miles south of Washington D.C.

Let's all hope they get him, and that he's the guy (guys, girls, whatever) who did all the other shootings. That goes without saying, of course, but I say it anyway.
To: seamus
I hope they get him today if this is indeed him. This terror must end!!!

Let's hope they nail the evil gun responsible for this crime. The poor person behind the trigger cannot be held responsible.... < /sarcasm>
To: seamus
Any word on what kind of vehicle they're pursuing? I hope this is the "one".

It's not yet determined if this is related. As soon as I get word (our reporters should get an idea before it's officially released to the public by the cops) I will let everyone know.
But it was a shooting at a gas station, which fits the sniper's MO.

I am starting to wonder if this has something to do with an Al Qaeda sleeper agent(s). Notice that all these shootings are happening in the D.C. area? BTW, these shootings might be the result of more than one person. Anybody else have any ideas on whether these shootings could be terrorist-related?

Let's hope they nail the evil gun responsible for this crime. I wonder if the evil gun is partnering with an evil SUV as its getaway vehicle
