NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

He's parrying with the reporters. "Sorry we aren't giving you all the information but we're releasing what is appropriate" (slight paraphrase). Seemed a little more "in charge" for lack of a better term.

Do they have lots they aren't sharing. I want to say yes. Your thoughts?

Was just getting out of another thread and coming here to say Bill Gertz was on. Considering we all watched AQ tapes confiscated in Afghanistan showing terrorists taking down people on golf courses (of all unlikely places), it's possible it's terrorism, IMO. I rather doubt it, but as Gertz is saying, we shouldn't dismiss it.

Dog - my husband is tired of hearing me change my mind every other day. One day I'm convinced it's AQ and the next day I just don't know. I HOPE it is terrorism because until then we just aren't going to wake up in this country. Not trying to blow smoke (boy that sounds good right about now!) but respect your opinion and would like to know why you think it's terrorism. Regards.

LOL! I never got such a lesson. And my sisters and I used to fight in the car all the time while they were in the store. I'm surprised we didn't do something like knock it into neutral and roll.

Probably just decided to not give out any more info than absolutely necessary. Especially if the shooter listens to news reports. I say if we need to be information deprived, so that they can get this guy, then so be it!
