I disagree. There are facts not worth knowing, facts that don't solve or enlighten any problems, the dissemination of which does nothing but enhance discord between peoples. Knowledge is a means, not an end.
Speak for yourself, please. There are quite a few who'd rather withold those kind of statistics, I'm quite certain. Here's another fact you probably don't want to know -- Hispanics are "white" when they commit a crime -- but Hispanic when they are a victim of crime. Neat, huh? If anything, obfuscation of the reality of crime causes discord -- there's a profound disconnect with what is reported in the media -- and taught in schools -- compared with the truth.
Congratulations, Andy! You have won two (2) awards today!
1. Ostrich of the Year (just keep your head buried in the sand and you won't see the obvious).
2. Joseph Goebbels Censorship Award (Don't let the people know what is really going on). They can't handle it)!
Thus speaks a propagandist, and censor. He wants to determine in advance whether a fact is worthy of being known by you, and, if he determines that it isn't, he wants to stop you from knowing it.
