So I guess this means the OKC bombing has once again become the stuff of the Sunday morning news shows. It's a start. Even on Fox.
Ping for prayers being answered.

What no ping? My apologies and my mistake. I forgot the most important part of posting.

I forgot the most important part of posting. Ping list is growing hourly, for whatever that's worth. Just think, if everybody sent two emails--one to their congressman and one to a senator.....

Just think, if everybody sent two emails--one to their congressman and one to a senator..... That is the key right now. I will send emails tomorrow and if I get a copy of the transcript from Specter's interview I am going to include it with a written letter to my Senators and my Congressman.

I don't know if we are going to see a transcript of the interview from Specter.
Maybe somebody can email Smerconish --and he'll put it up on his website.
And there are others ways, like transcription, which takes a long time to do. Remember the time the guy transcribed the entire Jim Quinn interview? But I don't think it was an hour long.
Maybe Jayna will put it up on her website.

I admire Spector for attempting, or at least pretending to attempt this challenge. But I recall his Waco response from the hearings which was most positive toward justice. IOW, he had his thoughts and his heart in the right place, but in the end, he failed to follow thru. Thusly, still no justice for Waco.

I really hope Specter is serious about this, although past experience and knowledge really makes me wonder about it. He was the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee just after the OKC Bombing occurred. It is really hard for me to believe he didn't have an inkling of any of this stuff at the time. On the other hand, he is a Republican....
To: glorygirl
I believe wholeheartedly that his conscience is clear. I believe wholeheartedly that his heart is in the right place. That aside, I believe he lacks the leadership and/or courage as was demonstrated during the Waco hearings to see this thing thru. I want desperately to be wrong.

I was reading some replies on another forum earlier and some individuals were still trying to float the DOJ canard that Todd Bunting was John Doe 2.
It was a testament to the failure of professional journalists.
The American people were never informed that the sketch in reply#14 released by the FBI on May 1, 1995, was based solely on eyewitnesses in Oklahoma City.
Todd Bunting was in Kansas, not Oklahoma City;therefore,he could not possibly be the man in the sketch.
Even so, the eyewitnesses that provided the original John Doe 2 sketch never changed their original story and never believed for a moment that the man with McVeigh in Elliot's Body Shop was Todd Bunting. The Todd Bunting canard was based solely on imagination, not evidence.

Specter knows everything that we know about the OK City bombing connection to Saddam Hussein, yet he voted with the Democrats to continue the debate on the resolution. Now, what was that about?

Eva, you'll have to read some of the previous Specter/OKC threads, where I discussed fully on this. Right now, I'm trying to figure out how Specter voted on supporting the prez to invade Iraq...the Senate is still in session, the bill passed 77-23about 20 minutes ago. If anybody knows, let me know.
To: honway; Eva
meant to say "discoursed"...getting tired (almost wrote discoused!)
To: Eva
Specter voted "yes" with Bush on the resolution to invade Iraq. This is different from what he said he was going to do a week ago, which is very much in character for him.
I'll freepmail you the thread I mentioned.

The Todd Bunting canard was based solely on imagination, not evidence. For anyone who would like to see the supporting evidence for the above statement, please see the court transcripts and press reports in the link below. Specifically, replies #65,72,75,78,84,88,93-100.

Specter is an enigima. He is so totally owned by special interest groups that his votes defy logic. I have always wondered what inspired him to come up with the magic bullet theory. It took some powerful motivation to put forward that piece of incredible garbage.

Thanks, I'll look for it. I have more or less followed Specter's career because I used to drive by his house every day on my way to school at Temple when he was the city district attorney.

That is why I think it will be so interesting to see how this little OKC/Bombing drama plays out. I know today's news event is somehow connected to his switcheroo, just can't figure it out. Maybe I'm too tired, maybe time will tell, maybe somebody else is smarter or better informed and has some clues. Or maybe not.
It could just be Specter being Specter.
But I think there's a good chance Specter (and Tom Daschle) learned some scary things in the last few days that led to the big flip-flop.
To: glorygirl
My guess is that Specter is using this as an excuse to slip the bonds of his union backers.
