I do live in this area of the country, probably a 5 minute drive from where some of the killings. Ive posted this before, but ill summarize again. First, lets not fly off the handle and say this is a muslim. So far we have no proff of that, although like many people, i have a hunch. Regardless, this is an act of terrorism. Terrorism doesnt have to be on a huge scale such as 9/11 to be effective. While 9/11 was a tragedy, this kind of terrorism scares me more, and thats not just because i live in the DC area. Its pretty easy to dismiss these acts when you dont have to confront them face to face every day, but these type of attacks, whoever is doing them, are nearly impossible to stop. You can put up barricades around the Pentagon and tighten airport security. You CANNOT have someone watching every single person in the country to keep them from being picked off by a sniper. Each of us takes for granted how safe our nation generally is. I really hope that this is some nut whose lost it. If it is the work of an organization of terrorists, right now i really dont see how we can stop it.
