Gov. Perry did well in the debate with Sanchez last night, but it was a reporter asking a question of Sanchez who gutted him live.

"You say the Savings and Loan that failed was not your fault because you were merely on the Board of Directors, but actually you and your father owned 70% of the bank. And the reason that the bank failed was because of nonperforming and preference loans given to your friends...."

WOW! I wish we had reporters like that in California.

"I guess. Now all the snakes will go home to their constituents" sportin their badly bruised and beaten ego's while trying to explain why the man they claimed was stupid and not up to the challenge just strummed them like a second hand fiddle :-)

In the closing hours of debate, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., said the decision to back the resolution was ''the hardest decision I've ever had to make, but I cast it with conviction. I want this president, or any future president, to be in the strongest possible position to lead our country, at the United Nations or at war.''

This, from the NYTs I believe.

On another note, I was watching Brit Hume, before they broke in for the Senate vote, and Ceci Connelly said that the democrats are totally demoralized because Bush has totatlly outflanked them and there is no consensus within the democrat party in regards to Iraq. And then they showed poll results which gave the economy issue evenly to the GOP and Dems. Mort Krondracke then said that a PEW research poll found that of those who lost money in their 401ks, they supported the GOP over the dems 49-43! Gotta love it.

What can a person that does not reside in MO and Minn. do to help the defeat of those demorats.

South Dakota: John Thune, current Congressman, (articulate, affable, attractive in an August debate with Johnson) running against Tim Johnson, current Senator.
Latest poll:Thune 43% Johnson 44% Evans (L) 2% Mason Dixon 9/16-19 MOE-3.5%

John Thune for South Dakota

New Jersey: Doug Forrester (bio: former assistant state treasurer, now small businessman and university instructor) was running against Senator Robert Torricelli, but (since the NJ Supreme Court fix is in to reprint the ballots) is now running against the Democrat "Mafia" mascot, 78 year old, "have checkbook, will travel", former Senator Lautenberg.

Forrester 2002, Inc.

Minnesota: Norm Coleman, former mayor of St. Paul, running against Paul Wellstone, current Senator.
Latest poll: Coleman 47% Wellstone 41% Zogby 9/18-19 4.5%

New Hampshire: U.S. Representative John Sununu, son of former Governor, defeated current Senator Bob Smith in the September 10th primary and faces current Democrat governor, Jean Shaneen, in the general election for Senator. Sununu has less than two months to knit the party back together for the general election to retain the seat against a tough opponent, who probably would have defeated Smith.
Latest polls: Sununu 44% Shaheen 46% Blevens (L) 1% Greenberg Quinlan Rosner (D) 10/2 4.4%
compare to Sununu 55% Shaheen 34% American Research Group 9/30-10/2 4%

PO Box 500
Rye, NH 03870

Missouri: Jim Talent, former Congressman from St. Louis, against current Senator Jean Carnahan (who was appointed when her dead husband narrowly "won" in 2000 election over John Ashcroft). There is talk that if Talent wins he may be allowed to take the seat immediately. Trouble is this talk has probably jinxed Talent's recent poll numbers.
Latest poll is before Iraq heated up:Talent 40% Carnahan 48% Zogby 9/17-18 4.5%

Link to www.talentforsenate.com

Jim Talent for Senate
9433 Olive Boulevard

Arkansas: Senator Tim Hutchinson challenged strongly by state attorney general Mark Pryor. Sen. Hutchinson, a former Baptist minister, is in trouble for reelection because of his divorce and remarriage after winning the Senate seat in 1996 on a platform of family values. He won his primary by 70% against another Christian conservative so the voters may be starting to forgive him. Without help, this is our most likely loss.
Latest poll before Democrats went to Baghdad: Hutchinson 40% Pryor 50% Arkansas New Bureau 9/16-20 4.5%

Link to www.tim2002.com

Hutchinson for Senate
PO Box 998
Rogers, AR 72756

Texas: State Attorney General John Cornyn is running close in the polls to Democrat Ron Kirk, former mayor of Dallas. Current Senator Phil Graham is retiring.
Last reported poll done by Democrats: Cornyn 35% Kirk 39% Fairbanks Maslin Maullin & Assoc. (D) 9/22-24 3.6%

Link to www.johncornyn.com

John Cornyn for Senate, Inc.
P.O. Box 13026

b>Colorado: Current Senator, Wayne Allard, a veterinarian, is facing stiff competition from slick former U.S. Attorney and environmentalist, Tom Strickland. The Libertarian candidate, businessman Rick Stanley, may draw away enough votes from Allard to cause a loss.
Last reported poll: Allard 42% Strickland 42% Zogby 9/17-18 4.5%

US Senator Wayne Allard
300 W. Plaza Drive #100

Georgia: U.S. Representative Saxby Chambliss against current Senator Max Cleland.
Latest poll is good news, showing Iraq debate may be making inroads: Chambliss 41% Cleland 45% Public Opinion Strategies (R) 9/30-10/1 MOE 3%

Link to www.saxby.org

Chambliss for Senate, Inc.
P.O. Box 12469
Atlanta, GA 30355

Iowa: U.S. Representative Greg Ganske is challenging current Senator Tom Harkin.
Although way behind in last poll, (Ganske 34% Harkin 54% Des Moines Register 9/21-25 3.5%) Ganske may gain ground with the shifting of the national debate to Iraq, and the recent scandal of Harkin people spying on the Ganske campaign.

Link to www.ganskeforsenate.org

Ganske for Senate
1200 Grand Ave.
West Des Moines, IA 50265

West Virginia: Jay versus Jay. Jay Wolfe is trying to unseat current Senator Jay Rockefeller, using the same stealth grassroots tactics that won the state for George W. Bush. This one is under the radar, so you won't see any polls.

Minnesota: Norm Coleman, former mayor of St. Paul, is running ahead of current Senator Paul Wellstone in the latest polls.

They are STILL debating on the Senate Floor over Iraq ..

Voted just a bit ago and passed, 77 to 23. There was 100 year old Strom Thurmond at 1 a.m. coming to the desk to put in his vote.

I noticed Harkin for Iowa voted for, as did all the Democrats up for election except maybe Wellstone in MN. I've got to go check the record.

Dick Armey was practically in tears voting yes. I hear his son is in the military.

Even Clinton and Schumer voted for it!!

Hitlery wants to be President. Schumer is Jewish.

And they both come from NYC which took the biggest hit from the terrorist surprise attack.

Did Hildabeast ever take the floor and express her worthless opinion on this resolution?

Are you kidding? Of course. Byrd yielded 20 minutes to her for her prepared remarks. And she got to speak before Biden, who is head of the foreign relations committee, and humbly didn't protest he was being overlooked. But someone else mentioned it, and they gave him 20 minutes to speak after Hitlery.

Her remarks? I'm strong; I'm tough; I can be President and lead us into war; and then hedged with innuendo (subtle) against Bush, and cautions, like we would do better to get the U.N. behind us (for the sake of her lefty supporters who are against threatening war).

Gratuitous advice for Bush who is way ahead of her in doing everything she "advised."

Every one of the DemocRATS did their best to include all the jabs they could at President Bush. Most of them were acting like they were lecturing him. IMHO President Bush has done unbelievably well in his first two years. He has completely disarmed the democrats and won over half of them while earning the respect of damn near every nation in the entire world. and 75% of the people in this country

No, Rick Santorum is Pennsylvania's
junior senator.

As for the guy you're thinking of, I
believe his name is Mark Schwieker(not
sure of the spelling).

Thanks for your kind words re the Freepathon.

Thanks to the great Freepers like you two, the drive is successful and over Jim's Goal.

It/we will be here up to and past the election devastating the lying left wing maggot/traitors with the truth on Free Republic.

Vote out the Rat Senators and make Da$$hole a minority leader, which is very appropriate for this shrimp pretending to be a man.

I'm so comforted....

Your sarcasm hasn't escaped all of us, demidog.

The fact is that this President is a man of great honor and character who can be trusted with our sons and daughters in this phase of the war on terror against Iraq. I know that because we are trusting our son to him and the wise judgement he gets from his Heavenly Father about how to prosecute this war against evil.

The fact that he's more interested in the child than in the book isn't a bad thing, even though your point in posting that photo was to insinuate that, was it not?

Or are you one of the few (ignorant/blind) people left in this country who think that our President really is stupid?

Methinks, mr demidog is a disrupting jerk, Calpublican.

I should probably have ignored him, but his laughing at our fine President on this thread put me over the edge.

I don't tolerate fools well.

Just caught the end of last night's Dose, and I noticed we have a new poster here. Welcome, Demidog! It is wonderful to have you join our never-ending party. We get together almost every night, in order to see photos of President Bush, because the leftist media deny us this opportunity. We discuss the activities in his whirlwind schedule and marvel at how much he is able to accomplish each day.

We call him the stealth president here, because despite furious, frantic, desperate efforts by the dems, he manages to stay one step ahead of them each and every day. We don't always agree on every decision he makes, and many of us wonder at times why he has done a specific thing at a particular time, but we all enjoy watching his moves fall neatly into place, almost like a jigsaw puzzle. Because Demidog, he does have a plan, and he knows how he is getting there, and he is doing the best he possibly can, with everything (majority, media, etc.) working against him.

I just wanted to give you a little summary, because I figured that was why you were here. Hope you enjoy the Dose. We have fun here, and generally negative people go elsewhere because they have nothing in common with the posters on this thread.

So sit yourself down, relax, and enjoy.
