On another note, I was watching Brit Hume, before they broke in for the Senate vote, and Ceci Connelly said that the democrats are totally demoralized because Bush has totatlly outflanked them and there is no consensus within the democrat party in regards to Iraq. And then they showed poll results which gave the economy issue evenly to the GOP and Dems. Mort Krondracke then said that a PEW research poll found that of those who lost money in their 401ks, they supported the GOP over the dems 49-43! Gotta love it.

New Hampshire: U.S. Representative John Sununu, son of former Governor, defeated current Senator Bob Smith in the September 10th primary and faces current Democrat governor, Jean Shaneen, in the general election for Senator. Sununu has less than two months to knit the party back together for the general election to retain the seat against a tough opponent, who probably would have defeated Smith.

Missouri: Jim Talent, former Congressman from St. Louis, against current Senator Jean Carnahan (who was appointed when her dead husband narrowly "won" in 2000 election over John Ashcroft). There is talk that if Talent wins he may be allowed to take the seat immediately. Trouble is this talk has probably jinxed Talent's recent poll numbers.

Arkansas: Senator Tim Hutchinson challenged strongly by state attorney general Mark Pryor. Sen. Hutchinson, a former Baptist minister, is in trouble for reelection because of his divorce and remarriage after winning the Senate seat in 1996 on a platform of family values. He won his primary by 70% against another Christian conservative so the voters may be starting to forgive him. Without help, this is our most likely loss.

Voted just a bit ago and passed, 77 to 23. There was 100 year old Strom Thurmond at 1 a.m. coming to the desk to put in his vote.
I noticed Harkin for Iowa voted for, as did all the Democrats up for election except maybe Wellstone in MN. I've got to go check the record.
Dick Armey was practically in tears voting yes. I hear his son is in the military.

Are you kidding? Of course. Byrd yielded 20 minutes to her for her prepared remarks. And she got to speak before Biden, who is head of the foreign relations committee, and humbly didn't protest he was being overlooked. But someone else mentioned it, and they gave him 20 minutes to speak after Hitlery.
Her remarks? I'm strong; I'm tough; I can be President and lead us into war; and then hedged with innuendo (subtle) against Bush, and cautions, like we would do better to get the U.N. behind us (for the sake of her lefty supporters who are against threatening war).
Gratuitous advice for Bush who is way ahead of her in doing everything she "advised."

The fact is that this President is a man of great honor and character who can be trusted with our sons and daughters in this phase of the war on terror against Iraq. I know that because we are trusting our son to him and the wise judgement he gets from his Heavenly Father about how to prosecute this war against evil.
The fact that he's more interested in the child than in the book isn't a bad thing, even though your point in posting that photo was to insinuate that, was it not?
Or are you one of the few (ignorant/blind) people left in this country who think that our President really is stupid?
I should probably have ignored him, but his laughing at our fine President on this thread put me over the edge.
I don't tolerate fools well.
We call him the stealth president here, because despite furious, frantic, desperate efforts by the dems, he manages to stay one step ahead of them each and every day. We don't always agree on every decision he makes, and many of us wonder at times why he has done a specific thing at a particular time, but we all enjoy watching his moves fall neatly into place, almost like a jigsaw puzzle. Because Demidog, he does have a plan, and he knows how he is getting there, and he is doing the best he possibly can, with everything (majority, media, etc.) working against him.
I just wanted to give you a little summary, because I figured that was why you were here. Hope you enjoy the Dose. We have fun here, and generally negative people go elsewhere because they have nothing in common with the posters on this thread.
