The .223 caliber is a very hot load......when I first purchased my AR 15, we used to shoot at a cast iron products from 250 yards.....and these rounds would penetrate the cast iron.

Very hot load, indeed.

What I like about the AR is the fact that I will never see a Jerry Khuhnhausen shop manual for the rifle. There isn't enough to go wrong. The first time I shot it, I scored a Master score with a 471. What I didn't realize until later, my front sight loosened up and I started to shoot 450's. After set screwing the front sight, I'm hitting 99's and 98's in the sitting. I still have to improve on my standing. I'm going this weekend for a match.
