And here we have nice young men and women, robbed, raped and eventually murdered by hateful thugs who look upon them as weak, typical victims. The same thing happened in CA when the 2 girls were abducted.
Are we raising a generation of wimps, or is this just an aberration?
Wimps, I think. For this we can thank Benjamin Spock, the NEA, and their fellow travelers. Oh, and Clintonistas everywhere, and those who voted for them, ever.
This implies that those born before this generation are
somehow unaffected. I was raised in the 1950s.
There are things I do not say or do now that rated
so second thought while I was growing up. What is
happening is happening through societal controls and
is happening to all of us, young and old.
Think of the Pioneer satellite. When it was launched,
it was state of the art. But the state changed. Amazingly,
through the magic of uplinks and radio transmission, the
computer of Pioneer was capable of being reprogrammed
in flight. The satellite launched years ago is billions of
miles away, and yet is quite different from the machine
that disappeared into the skies way back when.
In short, if it's not too late for that, this is not an
aberration. The entire society is at risk to
murder and terrorism because we have trained
ourselves to believe that the defense of our
lives and property is better left to the state.
Now that you mention it, many young men I run across could be described as wimpy
. Much like those guys on Friends and other TV shows. What is even more noticeable is their complete lack of opinion on controversial subjects some will not even argue about trivial subjects such as sports. I have always attributed it to the changing attitude of young women who seem now to prefer wimpy guys.
