But...but...but what about all the horror stories about the boats and props?
p.s. I grow romaine lettuce to feed the manatees that visit me here. Had mom and babe last year---cool stuff! They hang out under my boat when it's up on the lift.

They're like pandas...cute and stupid, and there isn't a Floridian who wants them to die. Funneling money to the DNC through their enviral groups using the manatee as bait? We've been snookered.

Hi Nauti. How great, your own visiting manatees. That is wonderful. Do they recognize you? When you put out the lettuce do they come up to get it? Marvelous! Did anyone (historicaly like early settlers/Indians) ever try to eat one? Just wondering if they would taste a little fishy or would they (taste like chicken). heh heh ;9}

Nauti- I hate to be the one to break this to you, but feeding manatees (or any endangered species) is a violation of both state and federal law. Penalties are STIFF- up to a year in jail and $100,000 fine!
The rationale is that human interaction causes wild animals to lose fear of humans, see us as a source of food, and fail to teach their young how to forage.
I know your intentions are good- but PLEASE consider the legion of enviro-wackos out there who would like nothing better than to reward your love for these creatures with a severe punishment.
