You're probably right but a better way to keep the public calm would be to hold a news conference when there IS something to actually say and preferrably by someone who can answer a basic question like what happens to the bullet when it's released to ATF after/during the autopsy. And definitely a better way to keep the press off their backs is to tell them you'll hold a conference when there is news.

LOL! Why does Moose even bother? Why doesn't he tell these jerks he'll talk to them when he has something to say? This is getting ridiculous...

Chief Moose

Q. Any further communication from the killer?
A. It’s a matter of what one would call communication…I have not had any.

Yes, USA Today had a similar article that said the schoolboy who was shot had been kicked off the bus recently for eating on the bus, which is not permitted. Neighbors and friends said he was a very good kid.

Chief Moose stepped aside to let the politician speak.

Avoid gas stations that have wooded areas near by. Our shooter likes to take cover in near by stand of tress. Carry a camera, if you hear a shot start taking pictures in the direction of the shot, you might get lucky and be a hero. If you didn't live in DC, I'd also advise putting a nice rifle in your car.

Moose replied that way regarding communication with the shooter(s) because the shooter did leave a tarot card along with a handwritten note that asked the police NOT to release the info about the tarot card. The note is a form of communication, so Moose is going to be careful how he answers.

Chief Moose

Q. Since last Thursday, a week ago, all of the shootings have been outside of your jurisdiction.
A. It would be inappropriate …

Maybe the killer is tired of seeing Chief Moose on the TV.

Sounds as if Moose is quibbling, and that there has been something that could be regarded as communication. Maybe the way he carried out the murder in Manassas? Could that have been connected to something in the written communication left on Monday for the police?

The question was about "further communication," i.e., since the leaving of the tarot card.

Gary Bald
FBI Special Agent

The terrorism warning that was issued today was a request for everyone to stay alert.

What terrorism warning?

'The way the Washington Post article phrased it, that "handwritten" request might
have been written on another paper, not necessarily on the tarot card. '

They must a really good handwriting sample on this guy. Since the info on the card has already been made public, perhaps they should make the handwriting public to see if someone may recognize it.

Well, we do know for sure that the Virginia killing last night was a) from a rifle, and b) was with one shot and c) was not close range but was a difficult head shot.

I think Freepers can add.

Well, as a resident of Montgomery County, I'm going to be careful about where I go outside during the forthcoming holiday weekend. It's about time for the sniper to return to what I suspect are his haunts.

I think Chief Moose was thinking that the shooting last night was a form of communication, but he resisted saying so.

So why the gas station, Slim Jim's?

Target is standing still or straight shot as they walk back to the car after paying?

I think I heard about the terrorism warning on the radio earlier this morning, before I left for work. I was only half-listening, but I think they said it was a response to Zawahiri's audiotaped message released a couple of days ago.

Thanks, Peach. When I was a kid I'm sure they would have just said, "Hand me the candy and sit in a seat!"
