BREAKING: One more shooting in DC area

FOXNEWS just reported that another shooting has happened in the DC area (Prince George?). A man was shot an killed at a gas station.

Manassas, VA is 30 - 35 miles west of Washington. Most Networks have said they have news crews and trucks on the way. They were all over in Maryland, so it is going to be a while I guess. 45 - 60 minutes from the breaking announcement is my guess.

FOX now reporting about the guy in custody. He shot up his own house. Doesn't sound like a stable guy, or someone who would fit the profile of a sniper-killer. This sniper is someone who is above suspicion and fits in with a crowd. He is methodical, intelligent, and very cold-blooded. He doesn't get rattled easily, which adds to his ability to be above suspicion.

No kidding. I'm reminded of the panic everywhere in the country after 9/11 when cropdusters spreading poison were spotted everywhere.

Every shooting in the DC area is reason to wonder, but there certainly are many of those there, regardless.

If this was a common robbery, with a shotgun involved, the wounds can be nasty. Surgeons call shotgun wounds, wormhole wounds....As thats what the pellets or shot appears to do once inside a subject.

Oh I'm sure the charge will be on for more gun laws.

You know I've heard this assertion throughout this sniper mess and have decided I don't believe it.

First, the Democrats haven't picked this mantra up and if it would help KKT get elected it would be shouted from the roof tops.

Next, I know Merryland is a liberal hell but I'm not convinced that right now even in this state full of idealogical idiots that mentioning gun control would go over all that well.

Merryland citizens are not all that happy about the turn of events of late and even the most liberal hate feeling helpless. Right about now in this state with the most restrictive of gun control laws, I've a feeling quite a few folks would positively revolt if any politician should mention taking away CITIZENS' guns.

You know the old saying....a liberal becomes a conservative just as soon as he gets mugged.

Here in Merryland I'm thinking soon the citizens are going to DEMAND their own guns.

Just a gut feeling but I think that sniper might change this state for the better in that bittersweet way that Bin Laden renewed this country's patriotic fervor.

this gas station is close to the Interstate 66 intterchange
if I remember correctly between mile marker 30 and 40 on 66.
major interchange with lots of major roads for getaway,
very crowded area, kinda of like one continuous strip mall. Not a bunch of areas to hide and shoot from.
many gas stations. many small strip malls, wallmart, k-marts, and a whole bunch of traffic in that area.
been there many many times.

Different guy. They have this other nutball in custody from earlier today. Police were called when neighbors heard gun shots. The guy shot up his own house.
