Quite a few pinned scraps of paper or business cards bearing their names to their clothes before they jumped. That was the only hope they had left -- that their remains could be identified so their loved ones would have something to bury. I heard this from the husband of a senior Marsh & McLennan executive who was speaking to some of the employees by phone as this was going on.

We owe it to these people to utterly destroy radical Islam.

I didn't know the detail about the pinned scraps of paper or business cards. Heart-rending. Sometimes all I can do is shake my head in sorrow and wonder as I learn more and more of these details. You are absolutely right that we owe it to these people — and to those of us left behind, as well as future generations — to utterly destroy radical Islam.
