Riordan would have been toast as well. Matt Fong's "moderation" didn't help him much against Babs. Kalifornia is now a one-party state, and only a celebrity candidate can lead the GOP to victory. Governor Bruce Willis anyone?

When I vote, I'm going to be writing in Riordin's name. I just can't bring myself to vote for such a dunce as Simon. Davis is going to take this thing by 15-20 points.

The one glimmer of hope I have in this whole mess is that Dem voters might act similarly in other states when faced with a less than suitable candidate from their own party.
