It is also interesting that this thread focused almost entirely on ideology and did not address the RINO tendency to support big government programs so they and their family and friends can get rich.

RINO Rowland is one of the most corrupt governors in our history. A small list that should make any honorable Freeper sick to their stomachs:

---had his top aides work with a corrupt State Trasurer to shake down investment managers--the contract was awarded to whoever paid the most. The Treasurer is in jail. The governor's aides are doing their Bill Clinton bad memory gig.

--worked a two hundred million dollar loan to Enron. His former chief of staff headed the commission that made this decision. The money is gone. Now the cost of trash collection in the state has gove up at least 30%. Who benefitted from this transaction? The governor is hiding the evidence citing attorney client privilege.

--Brags about an urban policy which takes state funds and awards the money to build huge projects in non-competitive bids to his contractor friends. The deals are doomed to failure. He made the State the equity partner ($ 30 Million) so all that equity money will be flushed down the toilet.

--Soebds a fortune on construction at the University of Connecticut. While some of this money may improve education most of it will be just another way to pay off his contractor friends.

Oh, yeah. He originally ran on the platform of getting rid of the state income tax. Any one care to guess what happened to that promise?

Word is, by the way, that W thinks he walks on water. I leave the question of why W might hold such an opinion as an exercise for thoughtful Freepers.
