Why don't you pained constitutionalists ever think about the 40 years of Democrat control we recently shook off? Sabatoging the Republicans will doom the Constitution permanently.

Maybe "we" have and you of the Big Tent haven't listened. Every time the Republicans are presented with a serious conservative, he gets the cold shoulder as being too conservative. Some of "us" would agree with your position if it actually held some hope of actually doing anything to reverse the trend.

Have you Big Tent folks ever wondered why it is that a Democrat of 40 years ago looks EXACTLY like a Republican today? Why and how did the GOP slip? Was it NOT because of a willingness to compromise on core issues? How is more of the same going to reverse the trend? You can't sit there with a serious face and tell me that Trent Lott represents a movement forward? The first thing that model of conservatism did when he won the majority was broker a power sharing agreement with the Socialists.

It's the same old, same old, same old. All the Big Tent folks want our conservative vote, but then we're supposed to shut up while the government and it's grip on us grows apace. I'm not trying to sabotage anything; I'm trying to stand up for what I know is right.

There is a difference between principled compromise and compromising your principles.

You have no principles to compromise. You also have no party and no candidates.

All you have is a huge, engorged gripe gland.
