We have to wait for more clues. Looks like this Psycho is going to be handing them out. Because he needs to make this more tantalizing for himself. Apparently he wants to play a game with the cops. I bet you he knows Chief Moose from an prior arrest. The chief is pretty emotional (and I don't blame him) and this guy knows where to do the most damage to him like shooting a child. But of course I am guessing again.

He is watching and waiting. He will decide when the time is right for another shooting. He is looking at the places where the cops are staking out and will avoid them. Remember he has all the time in the world - the cops don't - they have to hunt him down before he kills someone else.

Do ya'll remember Detective Mark Fuhrman during the OJ Simpson trial? (He's the one who lied about saying the "N" word)...Remember what he said? "Out there I AM God!"....

ALL cops think alike. Those who don't, quit.....

Has Furman been on prior to today? And if he was, was he one of the people that desribed the shooter and thinking they were God?

At first I thought it was a terrorist cell. Then a couple of things occurred to me: Sniping isn't exactly arab/muslim style, if you get my drift.

NOT TO STEREOTYPE OR ANYTHING, but it seems that arabs/muslims generally like for stuff to blow up real big and have lots of wounded victims for psychological effect, especially women and kids.

Also, consider this: Tim McVeigh and Terry Nichols took an afternoon off from whatever their day jobs were, stirred up some fertilizer and diesel fuel from some plans they got off the internet and blew up a whole federal building, right?

If it's that damn easy, why wouldn't terrorists do that instead of going to all the trouble of shooting individual people and taking the risk of getting caught at it? (/end sarcasm)

No...

I would include a police cadet washout that wanted to get on the SWAT Team, since he is so 'in their face' with the Police.

Yes. That mention of "I am God" in the same post as "Dear Mr. Policeman" is quite eery. I'm pretty sure there were several mentions of Fuhrman on this or another thread. Can't remember if and how he fits into this. Anybody?

"....What he said was he was doing these shootings to camouflage his ultimate target, which was another person he intended to kill So it would appear the other person was killed as part of a random shooting spree," said detective Kevin Cronin, the lead detective on the case... "

The guy read Agatha Christie...

You know, I rarely see the race of any possible suspect listed in the paper when I read articles dealing with criminal activity. When the Enron exec was recently arrested did newpaper reports say "the caucasian was delivered to custody?" Me thinks not.

I really don't see this being any significant identifier of the suspect's identity.

That's because we know who the person is and a description isn't necessary in finding and apprehending the individual. However, if the Enron exec were on the lam then a detailed description of what he looks like (which would include the word 'white') is relevant. Since we don't know who we're looking for how are we to distinguish between individuals wearing blue jackets (assuming the guy has ditched the long black bag)? Why I would think race (i.e. mexican, muslim, caucasian, black) would be relevant. Don't you?

The closest I can come to supporting that statment about matching bullets was from The Washington Post

Joe Riehl, assistant director of the Baltimore office of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, said he would not comment on whether any shell casings had been found at the scene or what other evidence had been collected. After ballistics tests were conducted on fragments of the bullet that struck the Bowie boy, Riehl said the projectile was "identical to those" in previous attacks, in which the assailant used a high-powered .223-caliber rifle. "What we're saying is that the evidence here is the same as the evidence recovered there," Riehl said.

Chief Moose said: "The shooting this morning in Prince George's County is linked. The ballistics, the evidence, the science tells us that."

Authorities, citing ballistics tests, have said that the same rifle was used in three of the Montgomery killings, the D.C. slaying and the shooting in Spotsylvania. The bullet fragments from the other two Montgomery slayings could not be accurately tested.

To me "the same rifle" meant a bullet match. OTOH, prior to this incident I'd read and thought that doing that kind of match on a high velocity rifle bullet was more than merely problematic. I could buy "the same kind of rifle", but considering how beat up and fragmented the bullets likely are, I though "the same rifle" to be a bit strong.

If the evidence really only supports the same kind or even more weakly the same caliber, then I would say that the Monday shooting was a copycat, but not a very good one. Different technique, left behind brass, and the tarot card, all different from the other shootings.

OTOH, maybe there were tarot cards at some or all of the other shootings, and we just didn't find out about it, since the police (probably) didn't want the information known on this one.

"I don't think the killer is so much listening to the talking heads as he/she is listening to what Moose has to say, and mocking him. Maybe Moose should just shut up."

Agreed! Moose was literally blubbering and near tears the other day. Now that it appears we have a domestic nutjob on the loose, the authorities should simply appraise us of any new developments and tell us what how they want the general public to contribute to finding this whackjob.

One short quick news conference once a day by a Marlyland or Federal official and be -done- with it.

What's next from Moose? Not the Nuns! Not the kittens and the puppys! I'm really really mad now! Don't even think about a Meter Maid! No I really really mean it!

Moose is coming unhinged. Take a nap. Eat a sandwich dude.

Let the media make an ass out of themselves and let everybody else stick to good police work.

What an absolute class act the former mayor of New York was during the 9/11 event!

At one of this afternoon's press conferences, a reporter asked Moose to explain how the Tarot card disclosure damaged the investigation. (the reporter said nicely, I hope the question doesn't get you upset)

I would hope that the police chief answered that such information could be critical in actually identifying a would-be suspect based on him revealing information to the police that was not made public by the irresponsible media.

Something about guys named Wayne.

That is WAY too big of a coincidence to be nothing.

In the same thread, same conversation, "Dear Mr. Policeman: I know where you live..." and complaints about all cops thinking they are God, with a quote from Mark Furhman as example ("out there I AM God").

Geez, does it have to be a sicko survivalist white guy named Wayne? I suppose the thread could have made a big impression on some nutcase lurker. The cops will be knockin' on Wayne's door soon, if they haven't already. Any way to tell where this Wayne guy lives?
