We're not asking for your tears, you see? Conservative blacks such as mhking and myself are seeking 10-20% more of the American black vote into the conservative column. When this occurs, the RATS are doomed.
Now, the prospect of this should make conservatives everywhere salivate. So, I would hope that you would lend your support to our efforts. If not, no biggie, just don't depress the move. In other words (and by all means no offense), you can help by leading, following, or simply getting out of the way. That's all we ask.
Friend, I watched the debate between Townsend and Ehrlich. I was disgusted with the way the NAACP crowd acted toward Ehrlich and his family. How can these people be taken seriously when they act like this? Hope to hear from you soon.
That thought just made my day!
In Illinois the Republican party has improved since the March primary. But it still has a long way to go. The same hostility and baseless jumping to conclusions that you see in some posts also exists with some of our candidates, party officials and base. (regardless of a "Colin Powell Black" or "Alan Keyes Black" or anyone in between.
It is the nature of hostility that the "hostile" person attracts more attention than the "friendly" person. Thus the image of the group is skewed to the "hostile" person. In my lower middle class suburb, 100% of Hispanics (with 1 exception) and 25-30% of Blacks voted for Bush, and for the local Republican slate in a 3 way race in 2001. Yet almost all the paid professional consultants to candidates, and half the precinct and township committeemen refuse to even try because they think it is a waste of time.
Then some who claim to be "friendly" do an early endorsement of the most unfriendly candidate in the primary for governor, which is the high profile race here.
So how do we get both the Machiavellian and the allegedly principled Republicans to wake up? As you can guess, I am quite frustrated. Since March, we succeeded in knocking the 4 biggest problems out of the Republican Party. But the next tier, especially the candidate for governor and his advisors,
missed the wakeup call.
