.223 is common as dirt and not likely to be in any shape for actually "matching" - might be able to identify type of rifle (groove dimensions, twist, etc.).
If they have a case they could determine auto or bolt action.
But;
Don't think we're going to see any CSI kind of magic matching of bullets to same weapon although they MIGHT get lucky and pin it to a fairly low production piece.
Again, "fairly" is a relative term.
