I just heard Senator Brownback of Kansas on Greta's show on Fox say that he is getting more anti-war calls than pro.
I must admit I had not thought to call my own senators because I thought this issue was self-evident. I will call tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I would encourage all Freepers to call your senators and express your opinion about the Iraq resolution that is coming up for a vote.
It seems to me that the democrats, anarchists, and Arab sympathizers have their phone banks going overtime.
Thank you for reading this post, and any calls you make will be appreciated!

On Crossfire tonight,Bob Novak talked about a Congressman who had 500 anti war calls and 3 pro war calls. Despite that-the Congresman was still going to vote for the resolution,as he knew that " only the nuts were calling against the war".

And in a related story, 3 million Germans voted for Hitler, twice !

Thank you both for the ping. I have to admit I hadn't thought about calling Phil Gramm or Kay Bailey Hutchison because I know where they stand, but obviously they need to know where I stand. I'm going to call that pompous windbag Byrd's office too.

Tuned into the "Fear Factor" instead of the President's speech last night?
Case Closed.

None of Bush's arguments have convinced me of the merits of a war against Iraq... Let me see. We have terrorists who've openly vowed to kill as many Americans as possible..and showed their bloodthirsty willingness to do so on Sept 11.
And we have Saddam, an open enemy of the US, who is also a friend of these terrorists..rewards suicide bombers, has terrorist training camps in his country etc. and also has incredible weapons of mass destruction which he can easily hand off to these terrorists.
How many more dead Americans do you have to see before you agree that we need to remove these kinds of threats?

This is true, but a little moral support can't hurt the Senators who are going to do the right thing.

I'm guilty, too. I know what my reps think and just haven't called. We need to put our "money" where our mouth is.

You can keep me on your
friend list!
I will be calling my Senators......Jean Carnahan and Kit Bond tomorrow.
My guess is that Carnahan will dissemble. Did you know that she refuses to debate her opponent in the Senate race Jim Talent?

This is old news. I would guess the 5% anti-war left is pretty active getting out the calls. The 5% radical warmonger crowd is a lot less organized. Then there are the 90% nonradical middle. Probably tending towards isolationism but stirred by 9/11. I believe they are mostly behind the President in whatever decision he makes. They probably won't call their Congressmen.

Most Americans before December 7th 1941 would have been against a pre-emptive strike on Japan. Turned out a pre-emptive strike would have been the right thing to do. Leadership is about doing what's right, not what's popular.

We have terrorists who've openly vowed to kill as many Americans as possible..and showed their bloodthirsty willingness to do so on Sept 11. I agree, so we should deport all Muslims and not let any more into our country. And we should bomb the hell out of Saudi Arabia, since that's where the majority of the terrorists came from. SA also trains them in their vile Islamic schools and funds them.

When I protested Clinton's war I was mistaken for a leftist by the leftists until I pointed out I was a conservative and they left me alone.
