The abolishment of concealed carry laws would tend to make all criminals think twice, not just this one.
The interesting thing is that if you're claiming Concealed Carry would deter this sniper you're pretty much arguing this isn't a fanatical Muslim terrorist....and I suspect everyone claiming that CCW would matter against this guy also ASSUMES it's a fanatical Muslim terrorist.
Remember, these are supposedly fanatical suicidal terrorists? How does the fear of citizens with concealed handgun affect an Al Queda sniper?
Let's face it...this particular perp is the WORST possible example to use to argue in favor of concealed carry, and all it does is serve to make Concealed Carry advocates look like idiots when it is used.
Concealed Carry WOULD deter muggings, rapes, carjackings, etc. But in the case of this particular sniper, it's blatantly obvious that citizens with handguns wouldn't have stopped ANY of the attacks so far, or would be likely to prevent any in the future. And this is either a terrorist, or a particularly rare type of highly rational psychopath...."deterrence" of civilians with handguns is unlikely to work on either. Such deterrence WOULD work on a common criminal out for some money or a SUV to take to a chop shop.

Proven fact that when the BAD guys want to do bad things, they pick a GUN FREE ZONE...!!!
That is exactly what the area of all the shootings is...A gun free zone...
They do NOT pick an area where it is known to them that people may be carrying protection(GUNs)

Remember, these are supposedly fanatical suicidal terrorists? How does the fear of citizens with concealed handgun affect an Al Queda sniper? An Al Qaeda sniper would aim to kill as many Americans as possible before his own death. If he were to choose an area of of relaxed CCW laws, he might not kill nearly as many before he's caught (or killed) as he would in a strict gun control area (like Maryland).

If a citizen killed or maimed him, this particular terrorist/psychopath will have been deterred from killing again.

Very good points.
In the case of this sniper, though, I am guessing that it is a terrorist.
The reason I believe this is that it doesn't fit any other pattern of lone nut serial killer, and the "Al Qaeda Playbook" I read online (before this started) mentioned just this sort of attack.
Of course, it could turn out to be an entirely new and original species of lone nut killer, and I'd be wrong. But I'm still leaning towards terrorist.

For someone who doesn't care about surviving, this guy has sure picked suitable spots for effective E&E.

Which agency do you work for? You gotta be kidding me. The thing a terrorist fears most is, like Reid or Padilla, failing his mission. Which an armed citizen can cause. Nope, dying won't faze him, but fear of failure will...
As to your first post, it sure sounds just like our marvelous "protectors" to tell us not to worry, everything's OK, just stand around and bleat like good little sheep. Sorry, studly, you can't have it both ways. Either the bad guys are here and doing their thing (like the several THOUSAND several even lamestream bubbas have said) or they are not here, not a threat and all of the war fever Dubya is whipping up is diversion and barbra streisand... which is it, Mr. Gooberment agent?
