My 12 year old daughter mentioned something like this last night. She said a forensics speaker at her school told the kids that there is a device or a laser or something that can show the track a bullet took. She wondered why the authorities were not using that technique.

How, pray tell, do you get the several million of these undoubtedly expensive devices required to cover the several hundred square miles of the DC Metro Area? Even if you're just trying to cover all the craft stores, gas stations, and schools?
