Interesting analysis...and they're ALL within easy access to major thoroughfares.

What's lacking is the ballistics/trajectory analysis. Someone already knows the origin/direction and elevation of the shot(s) within a reasonable range.

Also I personally have not read a reference to the shots being heard. Is the shooter using a silencer?

Are these rounds subsonic?

The forensics guys know more about the shots than is being released.

A report this A.M. had a shell casing being found. Why eject a round from a bolt action rifle unless you intend to chamber/fire again? Why use a gas operated semi-automatic that ejects a casing the good guys can find (or you have to locate) and check for prints?

There's much we aren't being told.
