That airport (small planes) is located just above the exit for 197. The strip is perpendicular to Highway 50 so the planes take off and land over the highway. I don't see why this would tie in unless your suspicions are that the shooter is related to one of the hijackers and lives in the neighborhood. But that wouldn't tie in to driving out to Wheaton/Rockville/Aspen Hill to shoot the others. There are too many other places to hunt between Bowie and Rockville, like the Maryland campus in College Park for starters. (knocking on wood)

Great maps. The Washington Post reported this AM that police dogs alerted to gunpowder residue in the area of a decorative wall outside of a church, across from the intersection where the victim was killed in DC (last shooting on Thursday). The article went on to say that police were dismantling the wall, looking for evidence. Fox also reported the same info (quoting the Post) this AM. I went back to find the article this afternoon, but references to this info seem to have been removed.

I called The Mike Gallagher show this morning and complained that the police weren't really giving any help as to how to defend against this assault. I suggested that people travel in groups and if someone is hit by the coward (sniper), that the witnesses should point toward the general direction that the shot came from. I run a company in Maryland that uses white Isuzu box trucks (the truck they were looking for last week, which, incidentally, there are about 2,000 of on the road at any one time). We have about 30 on the road with a variety of drivers of all nationalities and skin colors. Our white and black drivers were not pulled over. All of our hispanic drivers were pulled over last Thursday and Friday and even yesterday. Several of them were pulled over by police with their guns drawn.

Therefore, they are looking for only someone who either is hispanic or looks hispanic. This would cover most middle-eastern looking men as well.

I have a feeling the Feds have been on this case since at least Thursday. Yesterday, Moose said he was sending members of "other agencies" to the schools, but that he didn't want to reveal what those "agencies" were. This morning he said there were "special agents" working in the "building behind him" that didn't care about their "ego." Translation: this is Dem territory, and they've been told to take a back seat, and/or the Feds themselves uncharacteristically decided to take a back seat from the beginning.

Carl Cameron of Fox asked Ashcroft today if this is terrorism. His answer: "I'm not in a position to answer that." Last night, Cameron said "officials" in the DOJ were concerned that terrorism had been ruled out too soon.

In response to the histrionics of the PG County Chief waving a letter to Justice asking for help on the basis of this being a serial killing, Ashcroft was quoted as saying something to the effect that the serial killing angle is why they have been providing assistance (past tense).
