It's 6:30 a.m. EST and we're waiting to go to the second press conference providing media and local updates on the Maryland sniper shootings. To date, the 13 year old boy has survived the evening and seems to be improving. Fox News mentioned that his aunt is a nurse. The police briefing at 6:15 a.m. mentioned Todd Beamer's Let's Roll comment and police are urging people to use caution, good judgment, but remain strong and try to continue with everyday life as much as possible.
Police had a search warrant last night (didn't say for who or where) related to the sniper shootings, but the search did not provide any information to LEO.

There is a difference between homocide of someone you know and random assasination. But, like you said, it is possible. I just doubt it. Especially when we are targeted by groups who train just for this type of activity.

Taunting is ok when you are the person in the line of fire.
Since we don't know where this person/persons are, the governor is risking others' lives.

Joe ....he called him a "coward" and told him to turn himself in...

Re anyone heard gunshot - last week someone heard a gunshot at one of the scenes (don't remember which one) and saw a white vehicle drive quickly away.

I can assure you they are still looking for the white box-style truck. As I drove in from Annapolis to DC this morning (on Route 50, which passes through Bowie, where the teenager was shot yesterday) I saw one that had been pulled over by a police officer. No indication that it was anything out of the ordinary. My guess is that any truck of this type gets pulled over on sight. Not a good time to be driving this particular type of truck. Talk about an adrenaline rush. Having to approach these vehicles, over and over, and each time wondering if this is the one and if they will shoot at you.(praying again, that God protect and assist LE in catching the shooter)

I was really ticked last week when LEO's kept saying the schools were safe. Then came Monday morning and schools weren't safe. They just upped the ante with their comments today, in my view.

Thats true in all these cases they knew the person. This is just so sick! I don't know what to think!

"Wearing bullet proof (vests) is a crime for citizens in most places."
Perfectly legal in most places, actually.

The firing pin indentation signature leads one then to speculate on the feds starting to "print" each and every firearm before it leaves the factory or dealer. Is that good or bad? This would certainly be a good instance. What would the downside be?
That would be similar to fingerprinting all persons and keeping the print records in an FBI database. Just in case you'd ever commit a crime.

I just heard Glendenning call for "This Coward" to turn himself in! I am not sure just how responsible that isIt would make sense if they thought they had a suspect that they were following.

I shouldn't say this, but very effective suppressor is a 2-liter Coke bottle with an "X" cut in the bottom taped to the muzzle of an AR-15. (old training has a tendancy to surface in these trying times) wouldn't attract a lot of atention if it were discarded in a trash barrel a ways away from the scene. I wouldn't worry about that, make shift silencers/suppressors and other make shift crude weapons and tools of this type are basically old news and been on the World Wide Web for years...

Patient and sound reasoning on your part spode. As to your point about white, male gun-owners being tangentially tied to this filth if, in fact, that is the case, let's remember the McVeigh scenario.
The perps here can indeed be WMG-Os and STILL be linked to Islamists.

True, it probably is dangerous to others, but so was yesterday and the day before, and the day before.......
But you do have a point, so I say this. Let me on live television, and I'll taunt him. I'll meet him anywhere in the wilderness, and hunt him down like the dog he is. He thinks he's a sniper, well I got news for him. Shooting decent at medium range does NOT make you a sniper. So come get it you jihad loving, east coast shooting, wanna be sniper/comrade jihad loving fool. COME AND GET IT!
disclaimer: when I say "come and get it", I mean the sniper, not you Miss Marple.

Reporter asked what purpose calling the killer a coward serves...A slap in the face of Glendenning and Anthony.

but the escape and evasion (E&E for the uninitiated) seems to be carefully laid out. You're making it too complicated. There's no need for an elaborate plan or special tactics. All that's necessary is to make a right turn into traffic, and you're invisible as long as you don't drive like an idiot. You don't even have to be headed anywhere in particular. Just stay on the road and drive away.
Assuming you picked your spot well enough (also not difficult if you know what you're looking for), there's almost no chance you'll be connected to the crime.

I don't think it is illogical to consider that this might be 'islamic' terrorists. No it isn't. In fact it was my first gut feeling. I'm now moving away from it and favoring a 2 nuts theory. But to be honest, it could just be because I can't handle the implications of it being a new terrorist MO...

Publically ridiculing the sniper may serve best to squelch would be copy cats. If it isn't glorified, the gloryhounds won't do it. I'd rather them call him bad names then to even imply respect.
