This comes up here frequently but I have yet to see anyone post a link that names them as DSA members.
What do these things have to do with Socialism? I thought Socialism was some sort of failed economic system.
http://www.dsausa.org/about/org.html
Just scroll down to and click on Congressional Progressive Caucus. There you will find their statement and members.
This lists the members of the congressional progressive caucus. It does NOT say they are members of the DSA. The DSA says they are working with the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
If you don't use html it will automatically format the link. Use double-returns to get new paragraphs. See bottom of posting page.
Correct. But "progressive" is a code word for socialist. Why do you think the link is there? The congress critters aren't stupid enough (most of them) to come out and say "Yes, my fellow Americans, I am a Socialist.". They instead say they are Progressive. But look at what they support. Same thing. And it is not just the DSA that links them. I did some research a while back on the links, here it is:
I went to the "Socialist International" web site here: socialistinternational
I clicked on the English language link. I then clicked on the "Members" tab on top of the page. I then clicked on the "List member parties in North America" link here: socialistinternationalnorthamerica
So, what did I find?
(1) The Democratic Socialists of America, DSA - where on their site they listed 58 current US congressional representatives as members.
(2) Social Democrats USA, SDUSA here: SDUSA
Right on the home page of that site it says, and I quote: "SD, USA is the successor to the Socialist Party, USA, the party of Eugene Debs, Norman Thomas and Bayard Rustin and is a member of the Socialist International" And right on that home page is a link titled: "New Democrats Online: The Democratic Leadership Council's (DLC) Online Community." So I follow that link here: DLC
And on that same site is this link: ND
These are the "New Democrat" House members - apparently that is code for "Socialist" but they don't want to be called that, so here is the list:
Tom Allen, U.S. Representative, ME Brian Baird, U.S. Representative, WA James Barcia, U.S. Representative, MI Ken Bentsen, U.S. Representative, TX Shelley Berkley, U.S. Representative, NV Marion Berry, U.S. Representative, AR Earl Blumenauer, U.S. Representative, OR Lois Capps, U.S. Representative, CA Brad Carson, U.S. Representative, OK Bob Clement, U.S. Representative, TN Bud Cramer, U.S. Representative, AL Joseph Crowley, U.S. Representative, NY Jim Davis, U.S. Representative, FL Susan Davis, U.S. Representative, CA Peter Deutsch, U.S. Representative, FL Cal Dooley, U.S. Representative, CA Anna Eshoo, U.S. Representative, CA Bob Etheridge, U.S. Representative, NC Harold Ford, Jr. , U.S. Representative, TN Charles Gonzalez, U.S. Representative, TX Jane Harman, U.S. Representative, CA Baron Hill, U.S. Representative, IN Ruben Hinojosa, U.S. Representative, TX Joseph Hoeffel, U.S. Representative, PA Rush Holt, U.S. Representative, NJ Mike Honda, U.S. Representative, CA Darlene Hooley, U.S. Representative, OR Jay Inslee, U.S. Representative, WA Steve Israel, U.S. Representative, NY Chris John, U.S. Representative, LA Ron Kind, U.S. Representative, WI John LaFalce, U.S. Representative, NY Nick Lampson, U.S. Representative, TX Jim Langevin, U.S. Representative, RI Rick Larsen, U.S. Representative, WA John Larson, U.S. Representative, CT Zoe Lofgren, U. And thats it. Interesting - From the Socialist International, to the SDUSA, to the DLC. All I can say is, Wow.
The Progressive Caucus was started by Bernie Sanders (Independent-VT), the outwardly avowed socialist U.S. Congressman, in association with the DSA.
Here it is...
Progressive Caucus: Members of the Caucas - http://bernie.house.gov/pc/members.asp

Oh, and here's a link to the list on the DSA's own website: http://www.dsausa.org/pc/pc.members.html
Gotta love Google...
The problem is that if we claim they are members of the DSA on this board, we lose credibility. There is NOTHING on the DSA site that claims the CPC (however socialist it is in intent) is part of the DSA organization.
Then when provided several links, you retort: We all know where the DSA site is. What I am looking for is something to substantiate the claim that the CPC members are ALSO DSA members. NOTHING on the DSA site makes that claim.
You must be one of those Dade county (cin)FLA voters still having a trouble connecting the dots? Or are you just a socialist incognito?
I always get some idiot that starts name-calling; the typical LIBERAL/SOCIALIST answer to the argument. I can connect the dots! But you apparently cannot connect the dots on my position! We all should be honest and print only the facts. I have no argument with the claim that they are socialists but what good is FALSE INFORMATION. Printing that the are members of the DSA has no basis. If you were to give me that basis, I would use that ammo everyday to out them to the public. Now get back to your mama and let her put you to bed.
Gee - guess someone told them that FReepers had made the connection.
